Table Tennis related to my daughter?

i have a girl who has been playing for a year, when she started playing she started from scratch at the age of 8 years old, she has mastered all the basic skills( Backhand forehand drives, push forehand and back hand , forehand smash and spin, and also producing all of these in form of Drills and also Excellent foot work).
Just today after a new trainer has started to train her for the new season, found out that he has been trying to chop for her so that she could spin the ball back to him, which turns out to be very difficult for her and that she couldn't return any of the balls. and this demoralized the girl.

My Question is:

is this right, is this the right time to teach her to spin a chop?
is this the right time for the trainer to deliver her spins on the forehand and on the back hand and asking her to block it?

If the trainer/coach is trying to chop her, find a new one!
