Antique lamps - Decorative Lamps Interior Design
First I have to admit I am a convinced phobia, a term defined as "a intense dislike of bright lights. "Upon entering a brightly lit room, I find myself unconsciously groping dimmer switch! Bright light is good - in an operating room, a taxi from the airport or a movie! but definitely not in a comfortable room. In fact, a room no longer comfortable when is on a tennis tournament the night time!
A successful project must succeed indoor lighting, lighting to be an integral component. One can have the best of all, stunning interior design, fabrics and furniture, but in the end, an inner life or dies lighting.
Decorative lighting As its name suggests, is primarily seen as a kind of decorative art with the side benefit of providing light. If intense, bright light is required, then the lighting Decorative not be effective.
When an old lamp being considered, can be thought of in terms similar to the decoration of a room a painting, an old carpet or furniture. First, to qualify as an antique lamp, the lamp should be at least 100 years old, and which is the age requirement for being an old age.
If a decorative theme is necessary, the lamps can be selected to complement an interior specific, such as Chinese or Oriental eclectic theme, an English country look, or classic and formal, in fact, the chosen style lamp may actually coincide with a period of design required.
Table lamps are divided into two categories: -
The first classified as accent lamps, which typically have a total height of no more than 15 "/ 38 cm when equipped with a lamp shade. As its name suggests, the lamp Accent intends to emphasize a particular object, or draw attention to a specific area. This can be a mantel, shelf or small side table in a foyer, or perhaps a group of photo frames or a collection of small objects. The careful placement of accent lighting is add a new dimension to the feel and comfort of a room.
The second category is the standard table lamp, usually measured a total height of up to 35 "/ 89cm.
Illustrated is a good pair of "purely decorative" accent lamps old -:
A lovely pair of mid19th century, decorative lamps, accent and model figures from China, sancai two of the Taoist immortals. These spiritual beings, religious number Central to the Taoism eight in all, and perhaps intended to be allegorical.
These super-human or perfect people, came to be adored and emulated by Taoists. The Eight Immortals often appear in Chinese mythology, literature and art, each carrying a symbol or attribute, and is imbued with a special power.
These eight perfect, living far away in a quiet place (the island of the blessed)
where they experience an effortless existence of freedom physics. They are ageless, eating nothing but air, drink nothing but dew, and enjoy the power of flight. Truly an example of virtue Taoist spontaneity and spiritual transcendence.
The male figure shown is "Lan Caihe" which bears his attribute, a basket of flowers. The female figure is a young girl "The Xiangu" - the last of the Immortals, carries with it, its attribute, a magical Lotus flower.
Both immortal Ming Dynasty robes gown and glass in the Chinese three-color combination of manganese, yellow and green, known as "sancai."
The immortal demonstrated by rubbing sea surface on their journey to the island of the blessed
The two immortals standing in order, of gilded wood, square-shaped table is Chinese.
Each lamp equipped with a custom, rich butter yellow silk square lamp shade, silk green grass in spring. Both figures are in a state original.
Circa 1850 Overall height (including shades) 18 "/ 46 cm
The base of the lamp, however, is only half the story. The association of the right lamp shade is essential in producing the desired effect. Once selected, should bear the look with the blend of style, size, shape, color, fabric and trimmings suitable. Both the lamp and shade should be chosen to compliment the existing interior or planned.
Lamps are purely decorative decorative. They are meant to be decorative, not a principal source of indoor lighting. The lamps of this type can also be divided by sex!
Everyone is familiar with the concept of decorative objects considered as feminine or masculine. There are, of course, there are no rules, however, general observations can be made.
Usually, the female is so beautiful, that is, flowers, birds, song, etc. and while cupids is a sweeping statement is used to separate male and be strong, beautiful, sculpted architectural elements such as horses etc
Attitudes have generally traditional interior design in the compartment of the feminine, but changing attitudes and men are now widely accepted as partners in shared an interest in interior design and decoration.
From a purely masculine men are table lamps and a theme that allows the expression creative. Lamps for the study, for the office, a library, or simply add to the pleasure derived from their living space.
Finally, old decorative lighting is not "new light" which is another topic altogether! In fact, I recently saw a table lamp as a figure of the Virgin Mary, who, when the lamp is lit, the Virgin was lit and the lamp base played a little tinkly version of Ave Maria!
There is a general acceptance level of comfortable interior lighting, which, of course, swinging wildly from one person to another (except, of course, for the phobia a)! From the psychological point of view, the interior lighting is an important factor for welfare. Soft interior lighting is perceived as an atmosphere that is soothing and relaxing - combined with a favorite chair and a good magazine, which is positively therapeutic!
