The Afro-Brazilian city of Salvador
The capital city of Bahia, Salvador, is alive with African influence can be seen on the plates prepared locally, ancient rituals and ceremonies that continue as well as churches and schools in the area. Salvador has approximately 2,250,000 inhabitants, and is widely known as "The City of Joy."

From Salvador is located in a tropical zone, temperatures are always warm and the humidity is always high. Higher temperatures can be felt in March and the coldest temperatures are in July.
Salvador is a city that is rich in the cultural sense. The African influence is heavy in this region, and the city is home to the Brazil's oldest cathedral, built in 1572. There are also over 350 churches in this city, most of them Catholics. The centers of the local cuisine recipes and ingredients in West Africa, and includes seafood, the main staple mixed with hot spices.
From Salvador is a mix of people diverse, Indians, Africans and Europeans, is an eclectic mix of celebrations of music, food, religion and culture can be seen here.
