Badminton Racket Basics
badminton rackets can be expensive and it would be better to know the basics before you buy. If you are a novice player is not necessary to spend much on a racquet. A less expensive badminton racket will have no problem. Try to spend about £ 30 maximum. There are many good rackets around at this price.
There are some basics to look at any badminton racquet, the most important is the weight, balance, head shape, flexibility and size of the handle.
More rackets weigh between 80-100 grams. More weight should give more power but less maneuverability. A heavy racket will be more difficult to travel by air, but will be more stable than a racket lightly. A lighter racket will offer more swing speed and maneuverability at the cost of power and stability. The lightest badminton racket I've found is the Karakal SL-70 and weighs just 70 grams. This is the weight before adding the strings and overgrip, so it must be aware of it.
Yonex are the manufacturer badminton racket more popular and have their own unique system for determining the weight, the system of U, ranging from U = 95-100g all the way to 4U = 80-84g. Several shoe manufacturers have their own way of doing things and be different from Yonex. A beginning player should not worry about the weight is therefore much more important to focus skills in badminton.
The balance of a badminton racket referred to them. There are three types, heavy head, light head, and spread evenly. Head heavy racquets offer more weight on the top of the swing, giving more power and stability in contact with the shuttle. Head light racquets allow you to turn the racquet faster, but less weight means less power and stability. Even balanced rackets, give a neutral feeling.
The classic form of head is usually an oval shape, but can also be purchased isometric figures head. Isometric head is more square, creating a wider sweet spot. If you can hit the shuttle in the middle of the racket head will hit the sweet spot. With an expanded sweet spot is more likely to get energy from shooting center. For a novice this could be a useful advantage
The flexibility of the racket refers to the amount of bending that exists. A stiff racquet have less flexibility and, as such, does not forgive for a beginner. A flexible racquet, obviously, have more flexibility and this will give a beginner a little more power, as it will have a sling shot effect, but the downside is that you will have less control. You should just buy a rigid flex racket when his technique falls short, otherwise it may have problems with the shoulder, as the vibration of hitting the ship travels through your arm and shoulder joint.
Grip sizes also come with different systems. Yonex Badminton their system of G, ranging from G2 (the largest) of G5 (the smallest). Other trademarks used small, medium and large. The size of your handle is your own personal preferences, each one is different.
These are the basics of badminton racket and I hope this will help when choosing your next racquet.
