Do you have tennis elbow?

You keep feeling pain in his elbow and can not understand why. You are in perfect physical and tennis ends weekend with friends when the weather is nice. You even joined a tennis club to have access to better track inside.

Now, you are in pain and not know why. What is even more important to you is that you can not play tennis without the pain becoming more severe. It's time to see a doctor and is expected to get a pill to feel better. Unfortunately, after numerous tests, the doctor says you have tennis elbow, something I thought was just a joke or an excuse for not play the game well.

Well, what is happening in the elbow? Tennis elbow occurs when tiny tears occur in a particular part of the tendon and muscle in the covers. Even after leaving everything to heal and care for your injury, you will be prone to this condition for the rest of his life.

You start studying on this subject and know that the tennis elbow has some basic symptoms that include:

* Recurring pain on the outside of the top the forearm below the elbow, sometimes, the pain may radiate down the arm to the wrist.

* The pain caused by lifting or bending the arm or grab objects, including light.

* Difficulty extending the forearm fully (because of inflamed muscles, tendons and ligaments do not want to bend).

* The pain usually lasts between 6-12 weeks, the discomfort can continue for as little as 3 weeks to several years.

You realize that you have been having problems for a few months with these symptoms, but did not know there was a serious problem. You just take an aspirin and get on with life being tough and deal with the discomfort. Now you know that by ignoring the pain he has caused even more damage that will take longer to heal.

If you have only taken the time to know about tennis elbow, you may have been able to avoid the problem. There were exercises specifically designed to strengthen the arm muscles used when playing tennis. If only I had known about this preventive process, which would have been able to do these before playing. Very similar to the stretching to do before run-heat the muscles and prepare them.

So you know what to do, but it's too late? It may not be too late. You can start taking better care of yourself and make sure it is ready to play tennis again. Let your initial injury to heal all the way, not just when you think it is better, but after the doctor gives his approval for you play again. Then, try warming the muscles first or use a cuff on the forearm below the elbow. Additional support provided by the band can help or hurt, ask your doctor for his opinion.

Take the time to improve, and hopefully you in enjoying tennis more without worrying about another injury.
