Basic grasp of Table Tennis: How to Keep the shovel
The sport of table tennis or ping pong, is a fun indoor sport for 2 or 4. On one level informal, families may have a ping pong table in the recreation room of the family or in the basement, like a pool or foosball table, but few know how table tennis or ping pong to achieve the best results. Then we designed the basic grips (ways to hold the table tennis paddle) tennis table, to help maximize their performance, both recreational and professional.
The way you hold your table tennis paddle can dramatically alter performance depending on the type of game you are trying to play (whether professional or recreational), which will be predominantly using strokes, and the like. There are three ways basic hold or grip your paddle tennis or table tennis: the shakehands, penhold and seemiller grips. Shakehands Mango is the most used in both rooms of rec professionals and family parties as it allows great mobility in both forehand and backhand. The handle is more dated penhold grip for players table tennis, used more often by professional players seeking to surprise your opponent with a different grip. This grip gives the player table tennis hit much stronger forehand predominant, and disables the ease of a setback due to the grip position. Finally, the grip seemiller was developed by 5 time U.S. Table tennis champion, Dan Seemiller. This grip is hardly ever used because it is considered detrimental to the form, since it uses only one side of the blade, both forehand and backhand strokes. It is a slight variation from the clutches shakehands, allowing tight control of both forehand and backhand strokes.
How to use the shakehands Grip:
Grasp the handle · rowing with all fingers, palm up.
· Extend your right index finger along the base of the rubber part of the blade (the actual paddle part) on one side of the palette.
· Close your thumb on the other side of the paddle (from your index finger) also along the base. Your thumb should meet the three remaining fingers wrapped around the handle of the shovel.
· Make sure your extended arm and the edge paddle a straight line. It should look as if shaking hands at an angle of 45 degrees.
Using the penhold grip:
° Wrap the thumb and forefinger around the base of the rubber blade (where the handle meets the blade).
· Your heart, ring and little fingers should be folded back of the blade and off the road.
• The tips of your index finger and thumb should touch.
• The grip should look as if holding a pencil.
Using the grip Seemiller:
· Grip the shovel handle with all fingers, palm up.
· Extend your right index finger to along the base of the rubber of the blade (the actual paddle part) on one side of the palette.
· Slightly wrap or hook your index finger on the edge of the palette.
· Close your thumb on the other side of the paddle (from your index finger), also along the base. Your thumb should meet the three remaining fingers wrapped around the handle of the shovel.
· Make sure thumb points forward to the game.
· Make sure your extended arm and blade edge line straight. It should look as if shaking hands at an angle of 45 degrees.
Things to consider:
· Keep your grip loose.
• Each grip preference requires a different type of paddle. Play around with different grips and see what feels most comfortable for you, before opting for an oar in particular.
· Choose to play a game or an opponent that matches the type of grip and movement that is best. For example: use a shakehands grip general for a game that required forehand and backhand. Use Seemiller grip for a professional game that requires a lot of blocking.
• If the grip is uncomfortable, make sure your form is correct.
Best · to do if you have any question or problem, ask a tennis coach table or locate a provider license.
